Success without integrity? |
|
|
Read Matthew 16: 21-28
|
He was
36 years old and a U.S. congressman. He had everything he dreamed of as
a high-school debate champion. He had everything he worked for as a summa
cum laude political science undergraduate. He had everything he trained
for as a brilliant Ivy League law student.
But he lost it all in a scandal with public funds. The ex-congressman couldn't maintain his success without integrity. To some people, if a choice between maintaining Christian integrity and moving up the success ladder must be made, the choice is obvious: Forget integrity. Jesus had a different point of view about the relative value of following Him and following riches: "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26). The ex-congressman's world came crashing down in this life. But God doesn't always do it that way Some people who have lied and cheated won't get their just reward until Judgment Daybut they will get it. (Article continues below...)
God will richly bless a personboth in this life and in the life to comewho works diligently, works well, and works with integrity Are you that kind of person? |
