The slightest misunderstanding can crush some relationships. Yet others are like rockseemingly indestructible. What makes the
difference? In a Christian relationship that lasts, you'll Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12). That phrase "clothe yourselves" means to cover yourself, to be entirely immersed in something, even hide completely inside something. We are to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patiencefive keys to healthy, rewarding relationships. (Article continues below...)
Imagine befriending someone whose life could be described by those virtues. You would receive tender mercy when you made mistakes. When you were hurting, you would receive kindness. You would have someone who always exhibits humility and would listen, care, and serve. He or she would be gentle, not pushy or demanding. This person would work patiently with you, even if you missed it 100 times. The amazing truth is that, in Christ, you can be that person today. Just by putting those key attributes to work in your life. When you do, you'll find your relationships becoming delightfully rewarding.
