Setting Priorities |

Read John
16:17-33

Life is complicated, and there are no simple solutions. Some of us have spiritual scars from involvement in abusive or legalistic religions. Others are suffering in unhealthy relationships that drain our energy and suffocate our joy. Still some have been in bondage to immorality for so long that there doesn't seem to be any hope anymore. Some of us have blown it professionally and are praying for just one more chance. And some of us are drowning in debt that seems to grow exponentially. But trouble never surprised Jesus. In John's Gospel, Jesus warned His disciples about their impending trials. And then He offered hope: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). (Article continues below...)
Setting and even keeping the biblical priorities will not solve your problems overnight. But they are the best place to start. What is your priority in life? Or rather, who is your priority in life? Priorities gives you a bigger perspective in life. Priorities are a paradigm for a life that is balanced and functional. In the meantime, your top priority as a Christian should be to maintain your commitment to living a life full of peace, a life that glorifies God and testifies to the world of His love and power.
