As we've seen in the Scriptures, confidence was lost at the Fall of man; however, it was regained in principle on the cross. But because we haven't yet received all that Christ purchased on the cross, we still struggle with insecurities. But a time is coming when that struggle will be banished forever. When Christ returns, when He raises us from the dead, when He changes those of us who are still alive, the battle will be fully won. Our hearts will be sinless. We will always be doing good. Being set free from sin and death, we will be filled with awe but empty of fear as we walk with God. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:16-18). However, we can experience Godly confidence even when we're alive. There should be no fear. Just total confidence. That godly confidence won't be devilish pride. We won't regard ourselves as the center of our lives. Instead, we'll be secure in the loving presence of God. And we'll be filled with joy at the prospect of serving Him forever. (Article continues below...)
Experience the firstfruits of that confidence today. Lift up your heart in worship to the God who bought your confidence on the cross, and who will one day will return to give you the full benefits of the confidence you now only begin to feel.
